Wow… just wow, I used green screen about 8 years ago and changed to grey because of color cast issues and trying to get the green extracted out of tricky hair… the grey when used with darker backgrounds just made it easier BUT still time consuming. I have added a ton of composite work to my client list the past few years and it was starting to take a toll on my sanity! I have been familiar with Ben’s work and a fan for years but since I had moved away from green screen I never considered his action until a few weeks ago. I revisited his site, watched his vids and decided maybe I should give it another go since I was spending too much time with my current process. I bought a new Green backdrop (a GOOD one) and used it on a youth football uniform reveal hype shot. My first run at it and not perfect( (on my end, will add better rim light and a backdrop light) )showed me that I should have revisited this concept long ago, I was dreading some of my upcoming shoots because of post production time but now I am actually looking forward to it! Thanks been for the action and for helping me stay out of the psych ward this year!!!!
Cheers,
Mark Overstreet

Question
Jan Pelfrey –
Can it be used on photoshop elements 10? I was sold the templates but it seems this won’t work for me. Any suggestions for green screen extractions in PSE10?

Hi Jan,
Our Green Screen Extraction Action is only compatible with Photoshop CS3 and Newer. For compositing and extracting, we highly recommend upgrading to Photoshop CC. The CC Photography Plan is only $9.99/month (less than $120/year for both Photoshop and Lightroom) and has much more advanced editing and extraction tools that are definitely time saving and more than worth the investment.

This extraction tool is a great time saver. I find it amazing in its ability to allow very difficult cutouts as in the case of hair. It has also helped me dramatically in how I light my green screens.

This is literally a “game changer”…prior to having this action, I sent all my extractions off, and often had to send them back because they weren’t done well. Now, with this action set, I’m done in minutes, just how I want them, and no wait time for someone else! SO amazing!

I used the blue screen quick extraction that was included in the download. It was awesome. My hair extractions have never look as good. It saved me a ton of time on extracting for individual banners for a high school team too. I was kind of skeptical before I took the plunge and bought it because technology and I are not always on good terms. This was easy. I highly recommend it.
